Para muchos una autentica plaga. La vida diaria, cada vez mas sedentaria, los malos habitos, como no hacerr ejercicio de forma regular y pretender de forma ocasional hacerlo todo «de una vez», malas posturas,sobreesfuerzos, frio etc, son las causas mas habituales de padecer dolores lumbares.
En la mayoria de los casos el origen de estos es muscular, no entrañando mayor importancia que la molestia en si, en otros casos pueden producirse pinzamientos, compresiones discales e incluso hernias de disco.
Cuando estas se producen lo conveniente es ponerse en manos del traumatologo o del neurocirujano, sin embargo cuando nos enfrentamos a una contractura muscular el tratamiento mediante masaje deportivo ha demostrado una enorme eficacia y sobre todo, una gran celeridad al relajar la musculatura y favorecer la recuperacion de la movilidad y la fuerza.
Como en toda lesion, no basta con relajar y descontraer; los musculos que han sufrido una contractura, tienden a volver a contraerse, y en muchos casos la adopcion de posturas defensivas por parte de el afectado empeoran las cosas, asi que es conveniente una vez relajada la lesion proceder a su movilizacion, asi como la realizacion de ejercicios que mejoren la flexibilidad y la fuerza.
